Tooth Extractions in los algodones

Safe, efficient tooth removal with expert care and up to 70% savings compared to U.S. prices.

Tooth extraction is a common dental procedure to remove a tooth that is badly decayed, infected, broken, or causing crowding. In Los Algodones, dentists use modern imaging and gentle techniques to make the process straightforward and predictable.

Most extractions are done with local anesthesia, which numbs the tooth and gums so you feel pressure but not pain. Your dentist explains each step, shares after-care, and plans follow-ups that fit short, border-friendly visits.

tooth extraction Overview

  • One-day care: most extractions are evaluated and treated in a single visit.
  • Comfort first: local anesthesia keeps you comfortable; sedation options may be available if needed.
  • Clear imaging: X-rays or scans show tooth roots and nerves for a safe plan.
  • Simple vs. surgical: simple means removal with instruments, surgical may include a small gum opening and stitches.
  • Travel-smart after-care: written post-op instructions and a starter kit with gauze and ice-pack guidance.
  • Dry socket prevention: keep the clot protected by avoiding straws and smoking for the first days.
  • Border convenience: bilingual teams and easy scheduling help you plan quick returns if needed.

Your tooth extraction Journey: Step by Step

Single-Visit Extraction (1–2 Days)

Consultation and Imaging

01

Your dentist reviews your health history, examines the area, and takes X-rays or a scan to map roots and nearby nerves. You receive a clear plan, consent forms, and simple tips to prepare.

Extraction and Closure

02

After local anesthesia, the dentist loosens and removes the tooth. For surgical cases, a small gum opening may be made and closed with stitches. Gauze is placed, and you get a pain-control plan.

Post-Op Care and Travel Clearance

03

You leave with written after-care instructions: bite gently on gauze, use cold packs, choose soft foods, and avoid straws and smoking. The team confirms you are stable for border travel and schedules any quick check-ins.

Healing Phase at Home (1–2 Weeks)

04

Most soreness fades within a few days as the blood clot protects the site. Stitches may dissolve on their own or be removed at a brief visit. Contact the clinic if you notice increasing pain, swelling, or fever.

It's been a month now since I went with my son to get a bunch of work done. I was there for emotional support, but he needed a deep cleaning, 8 crowns, 4 fillings and 2 extractions.

Once we got to Algodones, we met the staff and more importantly, customers from all over the U.S. who were there, who said they were returning for the 4th or 5th or 6th visit. Multi-year customers who were very satisfied. After seeing the care and patience they took with my son (who is about as dental-phobic as one can be) I can see why people keep going back there.

They did a great job and I would go back there if/when I need major dental work.

As an added bonus, we stopped at a pharmacy and got a years worth of asthma medicine for my wife at a fraction of the cost here in the states.

I was a bit nervous to get dental work done in Mexico (as I'm sure many people are the first time), but it turned out to be a good experience.

I had two root canals, an extraction, a crown and a bridge. They were able to save a tooth that I was sure needed to be extracted. The dentists were great, they made sure I was never in pain. They were able to give me something to help my anxiety as well.

Everyone was nice and spoke great English. They have a nice waiting area in the back/middle of the building. Definitely coming back the next time I need major dental work done.

One tip: as you're walking through town to get here, just ignore the peddlers. There's a lot of them. Walk past them, don't engage them.

Comprehensive FAQ about tooth extraction

Are tooth extractions painful?

You will receive local anesthesia so the tooth and gums are numb. You may feel pressure or movement, not sharp pain. In Los Algodones, teams add numbing gel, give clear comfort tips, and suggest over-the-counter pain relief for the first day if needed.

What’s the difference between simple and surgical extractions?

A simple extraction removes a visible tooth with elevators and forceps. A surgical extraction may require a small gum opening, bone smoothing, or sectioning the tooth, followed by stitches. Your Los Algodones dentist will choose the safest method based on X-rays.

How do I prevent dry socket?

Keep the blood clot in place. Do not smoke or use straws for 3 days, avoid vigorous rinsing, and sleep with your head slightly elevated. After 24 hours, rinse gently with salt water as directed. Your Los Algodones clinic will give written steps to follow.

How long does recovery take?

Most people feel better in 48 to 72 hours. Gum tissue closes over in 1 to 2 weeks. Surgical or wisdom tooth cases may need more time. Your Los Algodones team will set check-ins that fit border travel.

Can I eat normally after extraction?

Start with cool, soft foods and chew on the opposite side. Avoid very hot, spicy, crunchy, or sticky foods for the first days. Drink plenty of water and keep the area clean as instructed by your Los Algodones clinic.
