Why Get Dental Braces in Mexico
Types of Dental Braces

Metal Braces (Roth Braces)
Traditional metal braces, known as Roth braces, offer reliable and effective alignment correction. Ideal for patients of all ages, these braces use brackets and wires to gradually shift teeth into the perfect position. They’re durable, cost-effective, and have proven long-term success.

Ceramic Braces (Roth Zafiro Braces)
Ceramic braces combine effectiveness with aesthetic appeal. Made from translucent ceramic material, these braces blend discreetly with your teeth, making them popular among adults and teens seeking a less visible alternative without compromising treatment quality.

Self-Ligating Metal Braces (Damon Braces)
Self-ligating metal braces (Damon system) are innovative braces designed for enhanced comfort and faster results. They utilize a specialized clip mechanism instead of elastic bands, reducing friction and requiring fewer adjustments, making treatment more comfortable and efficient.

Self-Ligating Ceramic Braces (Damon Braces)
These advanced braces offer the benefits of Damon technology with the aesthetic advantage of ceramic. Patients enjoy fewer dental visits, quicker results, and a discreet appearance, making them a popular choice for busy professionals and image-conscious individuals.

Invisalign
Invisalign offers an almost invisible alternative to traditional braces using custom clear aligners. Easily removable for eating and cleaning, Invisalign provides ultimate comfort and convenience, ideal for patients who want effective treatment without noticeable braces.

Jose Madrid
This place is amazing. Great customer service and great prices. I have had from cleaning to tooth canals and fillings. I also bring my son for his braces. We both are very happy and will recommend this place.
At the beginning of making an appointment I had my doubts about choosing the right place. As soon as I made my first appointment I felt the kindness.
They really are very kind and professional. I have already had several procedures and I am very happy. Likewise, my son is undergoing his braces procedure. Brackets.
We are very happy with the service and professionalism. The prices are very reasonable.

Well where do I start? I’ve been a patient for over 2 years and I haven’t had 1 complaint. Expect that they’re too good at their job. I came in today 1/9/2025 for an adjustment of my braces and a cleaning of my teeth. First I had my wires and rubber bands removed before I had my cleaning.
The young gentleman that cleaned my teeth did a great job and I didn’t have to check because I felt had touched every nook and cranny of my teeth for a thorough cleaning. After, I had my braces readjusted and they look great.
I’m very pleased with this location and the receptionist will make you feel right at home when you come in after booking your first appointment!

My othodontist is absolutely wonderful. I have referred friends and family here for everything from cleanings to dentures.

Everything You Need to Know About Braces in Mexico
There are five main orthodontic systems available through Medify’s partner clinics in Mexico, each suited to different needs and preferences:
Metal Braces (Roth Braces)
Traditional stainless-steel braces remain the most common and cost-effective option. Brackets are bonded to each tooth and connected by an archwire that is adjusted periodically to guide tooth movement. Modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever, making them suitable for patients of all ages.
Ceramic Braces (Roth Zafiro Braces)
Ceramic braces use tooth-colored or translucent brackets that blend with your natural teeth, offering a more discreet appearance. They work the same way as metal braces but are less noticeable, an ideal choice for adults and teens concerned about aesthetics.
Self-Ligating Metal Braces (Damon Braces)
The Damon system features brackets with built-in clips that hold the archwire, eliminating the need for elastic ties. This reduces friction, often shortens treatment time, and can decrease the discomfort of adjustments. Fewer appointments are required, making it a convenient choice for busy patients.
Self-Ligating Ceramic Braces (Damon Ceramic)
Combining the friction-reducing benefits of the Damon system with clear ceramic brackets, this option delivers both comfort and discretion. It’s perfect for patients seeking faster results without compromising on appearance.
Invisalign (Clear Aligners)
A series of custom-made, clear plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth and are changed every 1–2 weeks as your teeth shift. Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, drink, and maintain oral hygiene with ease. They’re best for mild to moderate alignment issues and patients who prioritize a nearly invisible treatment.
Consultation & Planning
Your journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation, including X-rays, 3D scans, and a bite analysis. Your orthodontist will explain your options and develop a personalized treatment plan that considers your goals, timeline, and budget.
Placement Appointment
During a 1–2 hour visit, brackets are bonded to each tooth (or your first set of aligners is fitted), and the initial archwire or aligner tray is placed. Local anesthesia ensures comfort, and your orthodontist will provide detailed home-care instructions.
Adjustment Visits
Every 4–8 weeks, you’ll return for adjustments, brackets are tightened and wires changed, or new Invisalign trays are provided. These visits gradually guide your teeth into the perfect position.
Removal & Retention
Once your teeth reach their ideal alignment (typically 12–24 months later), braces are removed, and a custom retainer is fitted. Retainers are crucial for maintaining your new smile and preventing teeth from shifting back.

PROS | CONS |
|---|---|
Corrects complex alignment and bite issues | Requires dietary adjustments and careful hygiene |

Multiple options for customization and discretion | Treatment can take 12–24 months |
Suitable for children, teens, and adults | The initial investment is higher than the alternative options |
Prepare for success by:
- Scheduling a full dental exam to clear cavities or gum issues first
- Quitting smoking, which can slow healing and stain appliances
- Discussing any medical conditions or medications with your orthodontist
- Planning for travel logistics and follow-up visits in Mexico
This preparation ensures a smooth, efficient start to your orthodontic journey.
Maintain your progress with:
- Brushing after every meal using a soft-bristle brush and fluoride toothpaste
- Flossing daily with traditional or interdental tools to remove trapped food
- Avoiding sticky or hard foods that can damage brackets or wires
- Using a retainer as directed once braces are removed to lock in results
Regular dental check-ups, both abroad and at home, help prevent issues and preserve your new alignment.
Your orthodontic course typically spans 12–24 months, though individual cases vary:
- Initial phase (Months 1–3): Braces placement and early movement; some soreness is normal.
- Active phase (Months 4–18+): Steady tooth adjustment with regular visits every 4–8 weeks for braces or 6–10 weeks for Invisalign.
- Finishing phase: Final tweaks, braces removal, and retainer fitting.
Medify coordinates your travel so you can maximize treatment efficiency while exploring Mexico.
Protect your braces by avoiding:
- Sticky foods like caramel, gum, and taffy
- Hard or crunchy items such as popcorn, nuts, and ice
- Chewing non-food objects (pens, fingernails)
Brush after every meal, rinse with alcohol-free mouthwash, and wear a sports mouthguard if you play contact sports to prevent damage and delays.
- Clear Aligners (Invisalign): Removable, nearly invisible trays suited for mild-to-moderate issues; excellent for social or professional settings.
- Retainers (Minor Corrections): Effective for slight tooth movements or maintaining results post-braces.
- Veneers (Cosmetic Only): Porcelain shells that cover minor imperfections; not a substitute for functional orthodontics but can address aesthetic concerns quickly.
Your orthodontist will recommend the best option based on your oral health, treatment goals, and lifestyle.
